How to Interpret Your Results
- A normal BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9.
- A BMI under 18.5 is considered underweight.
- A BMI between 25 and 29.9 is considered overweight.
- A BMI greater than or equal to 30 is considered obese.

A limitation that should be kept in mind is that BMI may overestimate body fat in athletes and others who have a muscular build. It may also underestimate body fat in older persons and others who have lost muscle mass.
