C-Reactive Protein and Heart Disease

Like cholesterol, C-reactive protein (CRP) can help predict your chance (risk) of developing heart disease. It's measured with a simple blood test.

CRP is a marker of inflammation in the body. While inflammation helps healing in the short term, high amounts of CRP over time have been linked to damaged arteries, heart attack, and stroke. Ask about having your CRP checked.
